Does the Mountain Radio have a roger beep?Updated 2 months ago

The Mountain Radio does not have a traditional roger beep or squelch tail punctuating the end of a transmission. Instead, our team opted to include a TX Beep function that plays only for the transmitter. This way, a tone will play when you press the button and again when you release it. This can be helpful when wearing gloves, as it will let you know if you've accidentally released the button before finishing your transmission.

Some folks like the serenity and quiet of the mountains, unimpaired by radio beeps, and others prefer the familiar chirp confirming their transmission is complete. Whatever camp you fall into, you can silence the TX Beep on your Mountain Radio at any point. Start with your radio powered off. Then, hold down the PTT button and the power button at the same time. The radio will power on, and you’ll notice the bell icon disappear on your LED screen. You need only do this once, and your selection will be saved. To turn the TX Beep back on, just repeat the process. This video will walk you through the process as well.
